Question 1

What exactly is the pack?

Accepted Answer

Scribe Simulator Studio turns typed words into convincing handwriting. You write in a clean word processor, pick a paper (ruled, graph, papyrus, blackboard, HMP letterhead and more), pick an instrument (fountain pen, biro, pencil, chalk), and the studio renders the page with ink bleed, natural variation and paper grain. Export as a 300 DPI image, print-ready PDF, or post it as a letter.

Question 2

Is it really free?

Accepted Answer

Right now, yes — everything is open and free while we finish setting up payments. That means all 250+ handwriting styles, every paper, every instrument and watermark-free exports, with no card and no account required. When paid plans arrive, a genuinely useful free tier stays: five handwriting styles, three instruments, five papers and saved documents, so the studio never becomes a trial.

Question 3

Do I need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. The whole studio works signed out and offline — write, export and post letters without ever signing in. An account only adds saving your documents to the cloud so they follow you between phone, tablet and computer, and it keeps purchases tied to you rather than a single device.

Question 4

Can I use my own handwriting?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open Tools ▸ Train my handwriting, print the sheet, write on it, then photograph and upload it. Your letterforms become a style you can select like any other hand — plus a signature tool for signing pages.

Question 5

Where are my documents stored?

Accepted Answer

Signed out, projects live on the device you created them on, under My Projects, and you can export a .ssstudio file to back them up or move them yourself. Signed in, they save to your account so the same set of documents appears on every device you use.

Question 6

Will it work on my phone?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the studio is built phone-first: it installs to your home screen like an app, works offline once installed, and the editor, preview and post box are all laid out for a thumb, not a mouse.

Question 7

What will the paid plans cost?

Accepted Answer

When payments go live there will be three: Premium Monthly at £2.99 a month, Premium Yearly at £24.99 a year (about £2.08 a month — 30% cheaper), and a one-time Lifetime purchase at £49.99 that includes all future updates, style packs and family sharing for up to 5 people.

Question 8

How do I cancel?

Accepted Answer

Every purchase receipt carries a manage-subscription link, or you can use the Billing page on this site. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you've already paid for — you keep everything you paid for until then, and nothing renews after.

Question 9

What happens if I cancel?

Accepted Answer

You drop back to the free tier at the end of your billing period. Your documents stay yours: signed in they remain in your account, and you can always export them or download .ssstudio copies.

Question 10

Can I switch between monthly and yearly?

Accepted Answer

Yes — upgrade or switch any time from the Billing page. The change takes over at your next renewal, so you never pay twice for the same period.

Question 11

What about the free trial?

Accepted Answer

Premium Yearly will include a 7-day free trial. If you cancel during the trial you pay nothing.

Question 12

What is the refund policy?

Accepted Answer

If a purchase went through by mistake or the studio isn't right for you, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it. Email support@planetneptune.enterprise with the email address on the purchase and roughly when it was made — no forms, no interrogation.

Question 13

How long do refunds take?

Accepted Answer

Once approved, a refund goes back to the card you paid with. Your bank typically shows it within 5–10 working days; we can't hurry that part, but we never delay our side of it.

Question 14

What happens to my access after a refund?

Accepted Answer

The plan is removed when the refund is processed, and you return to the free tier. Any documents you made are untouched.

Question 15

Can I get a refund on a subscription I've used for months?

Accepted Answer

Outside the 14-day window we don't refund periods already used, but you can cancel at any time and nothing further will be charged. Genuine accidental double-charges are always refunded in full, however old they are.

Question 16

What is Royal Scribe Mail?

Accepted Answer

The red post box inside the studio. Instead of just exporting a page, you can post your handwritten letter: it gets franked with a stamp, optionally sealed in an envelope, and delivered to the recipient's email address. The same address doubles as their post box inside the app, so the letter can be collected there even if the email never arrives.

Question 17

Does the recipient need an account?

Accepted Answer

No. The letter arrives as an email with the handwritten page as the image. If they later open Scribe Simulator Studio and verify that email address, their past letters are waiting in their post box.

Question 18

Do I need an account to post a letter?

Accepted Answer

No — the post box works signed out. If you're signed in, the letter is sent from your account's address; if not, it's sent as an anonymous well-wisher. Signed-in senders get their letters kept in their own outbox.

Question 19

What do the stamps cost?

Accepted Answer

Stamps are part of the fun, not a bill — first, second and third class are all free right now, exactly as marked on each stamp. The class only changes the stamp on the envelope and the delivery promise printed on it.

Question 20

Is there a limit on posting?

Accepted Answer

A fair-use limit only: each recipient's post box accepts at most ten letters an hour, so nobody can flood someone's box. Normal letter writing never bumps into it.

Question 21

Can I attach pictures to a letter?

Accepted Answer

Yes — letters can carry a picture, filed with the letter and delivered along with the page.

Question 22

Can someone pretend to be me?

Accepted Answer

No. Letters posted while signed in always come from your account's address — a signed-in sender can't spoof somebody else, and anonymous letters are marked as such.
